Terrifying pranking trend - celebrity "swatting"

A dangerous prank called "swatting" is sweeping Los Angeles. It involves a caller trying to trick emergency responders into dispatching law enforcement (like the SWAT team) to a celebrity's home by making up a serious crime.

Each prank can cost the police department up to $10,000 in manpower and resources and there are fears an innocent person may end up being mistaken for a phantom shooter and getting killed.

The latest swatting victims are Bruce and Kris Jenner, whose mansion was swarmed by police and three helicopters after someone placed a 911 call claiming someone was shot inside the house and armed people were still inside

TMZ reports: Sources tell us ... police came in force to the Hidden Hills residence -- several helicopters and cops on the ground with machine guns and other weapons.  We're told there were at least 15 officers on site, who locked down the entire street.

Kim Kardashian tweeted: "These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. Its dangerous & not a joke!"

Only a few days earlier, police swarmed Tom Cruise's Beverly Hills estate after someone placed a 911 call saying there was an armed intruder on the property
Last month, a 12-year-old boy was arrested in relation to two other "swatting" incidents involving Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher

Other victims have included Miley Cyrus and Simon Cowell. A female caller rang police and said Simon was bound and gagged in the bathroom of his Beverly Hills estate; while someone reported a home invasion at Miley Cyrus' mansion.

Scary stuff - have they never heard the story of the boy who cried wolf?

Is Mel the father of Jodie's kids?
That's what the New York Post is speculating.
It reports: "Could Mel Gibson be the biological father of Jodie Foster’s two sons?
"That’s what some in Hollywood were wondering as Foster thanked Gibson — 'You know, you save me, too' — in her heartfelt speech Sunday, reports The Post’s Los Angeles correspondent, Richard Johnson. Gibson was sitting with Charles, 14, and Kit, 12, at Foster’s table.
"Foster has never revealed her handsome sons’ paternity and has reportedly said she won’t tell the boys until they turn 21.
"'The kids look like him [Gibson] but blonder,' said one amateur genealogist."
Ah, well, that's settles it. If an "amateur genealogist" reckons it might be true ...

Michael J Fox: Keep Taylor away from my son

Remember Tina Fey joking last week at the Golden Globes that Taylor Swift should stay away from Mr Golden Globes, Michael J. Fox's son, Sam. Well, Michael J. Fox agrees. He told Vulture"Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right?" Right! "What a way to build a career." So if Swift showed up to a Fox family dinner (possibly wearing her fox sweater), how would he react? "I wouldn’t even know who she was," he said. But it'd probably dawn on him after the breakup song hit the radio. "Yeah, exactly," he said. "'Sam, You Piece of Shit.' Oh … that was the girl you brought home!"

Kevin's gory switch to TV

Kevin Bacon is the latest movie star making the switch to the small screen in The Following, a crime series - developed by horror master Kevin Williamson (Scream) - being described as the most violent show on television.

It focusses on a former FBI agent on the trail of a serial killer (played by James Purefoy) who has escaped prison.

Here's how Kevin addressed his decision in an interview with Vulture: "I don’t think it’s too violent for everybody. Here’s the thing: I’ve done a lot of different kinds of movies, played a lot of different kinds of parts. I was in the very first Friday the 13th. I’ve been in silly movies and romantic movies and historic movies. My focus is to play the part with as much honesty and integrity as I can and to explore what I want to explore as an actor. When I go home, I try to raise my children with honesty and integrity and teach them to take care of the world and of each other. I try to show compassion to people I come into contact with and try to put good out, as much good as I can. But that’s my life, that’s not my work. With my work, my job is to walk in another man’s shoes."

Aussies score in TV land

Aussies Toni Collette and Rebel Wilson are pinning their hopes on TV pilots in the US.

Toni is set to star in Hostages, a thriller about a surgeon whose family get kidnapped when she's chosen to operate on the president.

Rebel is one of three nerdy female friends on a "funcomfortable" (??) quest to have "super fun" every Friday night in Super Fun Night.

Good luck girls, fingers crossed they get picked up by the TV networks!
